Companion guide to the marsquake catalog from InSight, Sols 0–478: Data content and non-seismic events

The InSight (Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport) mission landed on the surface of Mars November 26, 2018. One scientific instruments in payload that is essential to SEIS package (Seismic Experiment for Interior Structure) which includes a very broadband short period seismometer. More than one year since landing, continues be fully operational has been collecting an exceptional data set contains not only signals seismic origins, but also noise artifacts induced by martian environment, hardware ground sensors, programmed activities lander. Many these non-seismic will unfamiliar community. In addition, many have signatures may resemble events either or both time frequency domains. Here, we report our observations common as seen during first 478 sols data, i.e. from landing until end March 2020. This manuscript intended provide guide scientists who use recorded SEIS, detailing general attributes most commonly observed features. It help clarify characteristics dataset future research, avoid misinterpretations when searching marsquakes.
